VENUE: Armitage Centre, Empire Theatre, Toowoomba
Based on Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, and written by Claude-Michel Shonberg and Alain Boublil (the team who wrote the mega hit Les Misérables), this performance of Miss Saigon promises incredible and passionate music and a heart breaking story in an intimate setting.
Set in 1975 during the fall of Saigon, Miss Saigon is an intense love story that also deals with the prejudice and bigotry between the Vietnamese and Americans.
Kim, who fled her village after her family were killed, has no choice but to work in a sleazy strip club. There she meets Chris, an American G.I., who will change her life forever. In one incredible night they fall in love, but are separated during the final evacuation of Saigon.
Miss Saigon is an enchanting story with brilliant and heart wrenching songs including Movie in My Mind, Why God Why?, Sun and Moon, Bui Doi, American Dream and I Still Believe.
