Toowoomba Choral Society specialises in costume hire from our previous shows for performance groups, schools and other musical societies. Our costumes are regularly seen at Empire Theatre productions and we hire to several Brisbane production companies. Our costume collection spans traditional musicals such as Les Miserables and Fiddler on the Roof, as well as contemporary musicals such as Dusty and Miss Saigon. Depending on the show, a variety of sizes and styles are available. There are limited Fancy Dress options available. Contact us today about the perfect costume for your next performance by completing the form below.
Please review the terms and conditions below before submitting a request for costume hire.
Terms and Conditions for Hire
Costumes can be viewed by appointment only. Photographs are not available.
Fees:
Our rental fees are based on a ‘per piece’ basis.
Late fees are assessed based on the circumstances preventing the return of the hire. If rescheduling is required, please contact us by phone or email as soon as possible.
Damaged or lost costume fees: Normal wear and tear is expected and won’t incur additional charges. Damage beyond normal wear and tear will incur damage fees. Damage charges may be incurred for broken zippers, detached garment pieces, makeup or other permanent stains, or any other damage that renders a costume unable to be rehired.
Damage fees include the cost of supplies needed to repair and/or restore a garment to its original condition, and labour. Major damage to costumes including irreparable tears, major seam damage, damage from safety pins or irreversible alterations, will be assessed at the replacement value of the costume.
Lost costumes will be assessed at replacement value.
Rental Return Date:
The rental return date is calculated by your production/event closing date, plus 14 days to allow for processing and cleaning time. If additional time is needed, please inform us 48 hours prior to your rental return date to avoid late fees.
Cleaning:
All costume pieces must be dry-cleaned and/or laundered unless otherwise specified, prior to return.
Alterations:
Costumes may be altered to fit but must be returned to their original condition before cleaning and returning. If a costume is returned in an altered condition, damage fees may be charged.
Costumes may not be cut, died, painted, or permanently altered without written permission from Toowoomba Choral Society. Tape, iron-on bonding web, or other type of adhesives may NOT be used on costumes. All alternations must be sewn.
Deposits:
All hires require a security deposit. The standard deposit is 30% of the total hire, and is to be provided on initial pick up (no credit cards). Deposits will be credited to your final charges when the hire is complete. A hire is complete when all items have been returned and the paperwork has been processed. Final payment will be due on the return of the hire items. No extensions of payment time will be allowed.
